The Next Chapter

Open Letter To Peter

Check out the two links in the entry below with the names Robbie Williams and Patrizio Buanne written in orange. They will play the videoclips. I am trying to be friendly, and am sorry that I hung up on you, but I feel that I cannot speak to you, and so I do not want to at the moment. I also suspect that you won't even be reading this unless I have asked you to.I also suspect that if you watch the video clips, all you will have to say will be negative and critical, despite the fact that both men are gorgeous, and both are praiseworthy specimens of masculine beauty. Please leave a comment before you call, because I would be interested to see you put your thoughts into words. Conversation between us is often stressful for me, a phenomenon to which I an unaccustomed.

Congress With Spirit

OK, so I have received the very first 'hate' comment on my blog, even if it was only verbally. Nonetheless, I continue blogging, striving for previously unexplored heights of literary brilliance, all in an interactive multimedia format, and absolutely free of charge ! And so my update begins.

I am creating a playlist of lovesongs. ( Otherwise known, for the technophobic or future shock sufferers of you out there, as a 'mix tape' ). My neighbour Michael just popped in and, after asking me if I was making a 'compilation CD', suggested I add Robbie Williams' power ballad "Angels" to the list. I also played him the Italian version, by the beautiful and talented Patrizio Buanne.

The lyrics of the song "Angels", which in their Italian version are not a translation, but instead have quite a different meaning, seem to refer to congress with angels. I have explored the theme of congress with spirits in the book "Sexual Alchemy", the cover of which I recently posted a copy on this blog. The author claims that sexual congress with spirits is far more exciting, erotic and satisfying than that with humans. The song also prompted me to think about belief and faith. The song affirms a faith in angels. Metaphysicians who suggest the use of affirmations as a tool for cognitive and behavioural development argue that the process of verbally affirming something that we wish to assimilate as part of our belief system, allows us to assimilate that belief more rapidly. The song is basically the singer's declaration of faith in his angel. The song is both the author's appeal for his angel at times when his life feels devoid of love, and an affirmation of faith in true love. Since love is a subjective emotion, it eludes the realms of Kairos - the god of time and all things linear and empirical - in that it cannot be scientifically measured. If this were an opera like "L'Incoronazione Di Poppea", Cupid would be celebrating his supremecy over the other deities in another example of love conquering all.

Googling Male Models

Why Not Google Images of "Extraterrestrials" ?

Another Little Something From Peter

Notes From The Party

Last night we had a massage party here at my place, with Taasha giving the massages. Karen and Ethan came over, as did Matty from upstairs and his friends Steve and Michael. I told everybody that we could create instant slideshows on any topic the wanted ( using PicLens )and asked what images they would choose. ( I had chosen to google 'X-Men Annual" :

Update from the Decompression Chamber

Ethan : What does a lesson in spitting involve ?

Taash : It involves leaning over the balcony and for me to explain it to you and for you to try it.

Ethan : I need an unltra-sound transmitter to shatter that shit on my chest.

Taasha : Well, it's impossible to know what everybody is going through. When you spit, it's breaking up some of the impact. It's like any problem in life. You've got to chip away at it.

( Someone vomits )

Sebi : That was some vile bile !

( He goes to the PC, and then turns to Karen )

Sebi : If you could create and instant slideshow, what images would you google ?

Karen : Zombies

Taash : I'd choose extraterrestrials

Ethan : And fractals

( Sebi starts the "Zombie Slideshow" )

Idea for the Optus 180 Project ( there are only 3 weeks to go before the competition closes ). Explore the concept of people watching the show on their mobile phones being able to interact the show via videophone messages, and the motif of going though the mobile screen being like Alice going through the looking glass.

Note to self : Try to ensure there is more continuity of style in the writing in future blog posts, and that they come accompanied with a video as well as a picture. YouTube rules ! See you at the Melbourne YouTube gathering on Monday 1st December at Federation Square from 10am to 5pm. If you want to check out my very first YouTube video, don't forget to add yourself to my friend's list and subscribe as well. I'll do my best to keep you entertained. I hope you like the pic.

Update From The Moment After That

I love the fact that blogging is very different from writing a novel. I have tried at length in the past to describe how the 'chapters' of a blog are not linear, because the posts are stored in a 'pop-in pop-out' system, meaning that someone reading it would start from the most recent post - the latest chapter - and continue sequentially backwards in time to the beginning of when the blog was first created. The first chapter.

Writing now, I am concious of the fact that I have the power of labels at my fingertips now, which influences my perception of how I will be able to access and use in the future what I am writing now. I also wonder how technology will develop in the future, and how blogging will change accordingly.

Update From The Now Moment

At the moment, I am sitting here blogging, and Ethan and I are listening to Track 7 of "Ministry of Sound Chillout Classics" Disc 2. I am inspired to blog because Ethan has just downloaded an amazing comic called "2000 AD", which looks amazing. We were googling images of "X-Men" annuals, and saw some beautiful comic artwork. I am looking forward to seeing a slideshow of the images with the programme "PicLens" that I downloaded recently. It is an add-on of the Firefox browser, and it allows you to create instant slideshows with images of any topic you want. It's free, and highly recommended. Here's one of the first images I found, which would even be cool to use as a desktop background if I weren't so attached to the pic of the two hot guys with tats and facial hair that I am using as a background already. ( See earlier posts ). Download PicLens, google "X-Men" annual images, put the "Ministry of Sound Chillout Classics" on, and enjoy the show ! You can even listen to a free 30 second preview of each of the songs if you log onto iTunes.
